The AA has been rescuing British drivers since 1905. When they put their name on a garage, they have been in and looked at it. Equipment, technicians, how jobs are recorded, how customers are dealt with when something goes wrong. We pay to be inspected, and we pass.
✓ Somebody independent checks the workshop. Not a form we filled in about ourselves. An inspection, against a published standard, by an organisation with a hundred and twenty years of reputation to protect.
✓ The standard covers how you are treated, not just how the spanners are used. Clear pricing, proper records, and a route to complain that does not end with us.
✓ It has to be maintained. Certification is not permanent. Slip below the standard and you lose it.
✓ We hold it alongside the RAC and Trading Standards. Three separate bodies, three separate inspections. Any one of them can take their name back.

It is an inspection, not an advert
The AA sends someone in. They look at the equipment, the technicians, how work is recorded and how customers are handled. We do not get to mark our own homework.
It sets a floor under how you are treated
Clear pricing, proper documentation, and a complaints process that goes beyond us. On top of that we send a video of the fault and the price in writing before any work starts.
It has to be earned again
Certification is reviewed. A garage that lets standards slide loses the badge, which is exactly what makes it worth something.
